Russell Goad, age 78, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the Hamilton Pointe Rehabilitation Center. Russell was born May 26, 1942 in Evansville to the late Franklin Goad and Ella (Schneider) Randolph. He worked as a tool and die maker; enjoyed building and flying aerobatic airplanes and was a member of both the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association and the IAC (International Aerobatic Club). He won 1st place for the craftsmanship of the first Pitts Special he built and flew. Russ was a jack of all trades and a master of many. He restored two Ford Model T automobiles, enjoyed remote control airplanes and traveled the world, including Singapore twice, Eastern Europe, Thailand, Malaysia, China and Egypt. He also enjoyed birds and his pet Cockatoo, Molly. Russ also served in the United States Army Reserves. Surviving Russ are his daughter, Natalie Goad and son, Landon Goad, both of Centralia, IL; the mother of his children, Sheree Goad and two nieces, Sue (John) Helfert and Beth (John) Hart. In addition to his parents, Russ was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Scheller in 2019 and by his pet monkey Chico. Friends may visit from 1:00 until 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service held at 3:00 PM.
