Anthony J Wildeman

Anthony J. “Tony” Wildeman, age 87, of rural Evansville, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital Main Campus. Tony had worked as a brick layer and retired after 40 years of work in 1990. He was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church, the St. Philip Conservation Club and the Robinson Township Conservation Club. Tony loved farming, trap and skeet shooting, woodworking, the St. Louis Cardinals and fishing and hunting with his boys. Surviving Tony are his wife of 66 years, Theresa (Schutte) Wildeman; four daughters, Sr. Rose Wildeman, OSB of Ferdinand, IN, Pauline (Bob) Wassmer of Evansville, Evie Wildeman of Newburgh and Patty Wildeman of Evansville; six sons, Dick (Jane) Wildeman of Franklin, TN, Tom (Carla) Wildeman of Evansville, Frank (Gloria) Wildeman of Mt. Vernon, Melvin (Jacki) Wildeman of Wadesville, Gerry Wildeman of Evansville and Randy Wildeman of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Sr. Mary Elizabeth Wildeman, OSC of Evansville; thirteen grandchildren, Crystal Bishop, Robert (Angie) Wassmer, Michael (Laura) Seib, Katie (Eric) DuVall, Rachel (Jonathon) Parker, Keith (Sara) Wildeman, Brian (Crystal) Wildeman, Mark (Becky) Wildeman, Adam Wildeman, Adrienne Wildeman, Sondra (Skylar) Floyd, Jordan Wildeman, Drew Wildeman; step grandchildren, Philip Mason, Matthew Mason, Kathleen (Brian) Lichtenwalner, Trent Schapker and Dane Schapker and 15 great grandchildren. Tony was preceded in death by four sisters, Sr. Mary Ellen Wildeman, OSB, Sr. Valencia Wildeman, OSB, Sr. Bernette Wildeman, OSB and Sr. Clare Benedict Wildeman, SCN and four brothers, Clarence, Walter, George and John Wildeman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Rev. Claude Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Philip Church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 7:00 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Wednesday at St. Philip Church.
