Catherine Miller

Catherine M. “Granny” (Fehrenbacher) Miller, age 88, of Evansville, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2010 at the Terrace at Solarbron. Mrs. Miller, along with her husband owned and operated Auto Wheel and Rim. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Catherine was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County and a lifelong member of St. Anne’s Altar Society at the church. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Clarence “C.H.” Miller; four daughters, Janet Miller, a Maryknoll Sister in Maryknoll, NY, Roxann Bradley of Evansville, Tammy (Paul) Burgess of Henderson and Angie (Mark) Kessler of Evansville; three sons, Ron (Donna) Miller, Jerry (Karen) Miller and Tom (Becky) Miller, all of Evansville. Also surviving are three sisters, Marian Ellsperman of Evansville, Edna Gish of Henderson and Rosalie Hartman of St. Louis, MO; one brother, Wilbur Fehrenbacher of Evansville; thirteen grandchildren, Brian, Shannon, Jason, JoLynn, Amy, Andy, Katie, Brittney, Jenna, Jarrod, Jayla, Matthew and Amanda and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Josephine (Seib) Fehrenbacher, her sister, Iona Deig and four brothers, Gilbert, Jim, Ray and Verner Fehrenbacher. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County, Rev. Eugene Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service held at 4:00 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County or the Maryknoll Sisters, P.O. Box 311, Maryknoll, NY 10545. The family would like to especially thank the staff at the Terrace at Solarbron, Dr. David Hayes and his staff and the staff of VistaCare Hospice for their care of Catherine. Also, we would like to extend a special thank you to Fr. Eugene Schroeder for his spiritual care and frequent visits.
