Edwin Neumann

Edwin C. Neumann, age 82, of Evansville, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the Evansville Protestant Home. Mr. Neumann had worked at Bucyrus-Erie for 39 years as an electrician. He was a Scout Master with the St. Agnes Boy Scout Troop #67 and a member St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the 30 year club at Bucyrus-Erie. He was an avid wood carver. Surviving are his wife, Rosemary Neumann; three daughters, Barbara Goedde and her husband, Jerry, Patricia Seib and her husband, Gerald and Rita Cassin, all of Evansville; his son, Edwin C. Neumann, Jr. and his wife, Ginger; two sisters, Bernice McClure of LaPorte, IN and Marietta Horne of Evansville; his brother, Clarence Neumann of Evansville; eleven grandchildren, Erin Berger, Kirby, Jill and Blake Goedde, Katie Goy, Sarah Brown, Angella Ungentheim, Nicholas and Maria Cassin, Jacob Neumann and Amanda Koehler and eleven great grandchildren. Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Lindy Deusner and her husband, Dennis of Evansville and Susan Smith and her husband, Ed of Olney, IL; three stepsons, Brian Sykes of St. Petersburg, FL, Robyn Sykes and his wife, Rhoda of Key Largo, FL and George Sykes and his wife, Kandi of Memphis, TN; seven step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years in 1993, Beverly (Pickens) Neumann, his sister, Frieda Mohlenkamp and his brother, Leo J. Neumann. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 21, 2009 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rev. Stephen Lintzenich officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 7:30 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Friday at St. Mary’s.
