Elizabeth "Bettye" Harrison

On September 27th, with all her children around her, our beloved mother, Bettye, went to be with the Lord and now lives eternally in peace. She was the oldest of nine children to the late Barbara and Carl Zenthoefer. She is survived by her ten children: sons, David Carl and his wife, Pam, Steven Eugene and wife, Jo-Ann, Robert Michael, John Thomas, William Edward and his wife, Elizabeth, James Patrick, Kenneth Wayne and his wife, Dana, Daniel and his companion, Liza Embry and daughters, Barbara Jean and friend, Mike Lampo and Kathleen Marie and husband, David Mathew. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, Steve, Stacy, Bobby, Timmy, Heath, Heather, Nick, Jonathon, Drew, Noah, Lucy, Chaviel, Jamie Lynn, Benjamin, Alexandra, Austin, Chris, and Mathew and two great grandchildren, Maddox and Haley: sisters, Helen Hardesty and her husband, Dusty, Rita Jo Bergwitz and her husband, Eddie, and Rosalie Edwards of Sebree, KY, brothers, Tom Zenthoefer and his wife, Barbara, Dan Zenthoefer and his wife, Mary-Ann, a brother-in-law, Bernard Mayer and a sister-in-law, Doris Zenthoefer. Bettye was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, her parents, sisters, Mary-Ann and Cecilia and a brother, Carl Zenthoefer. She was a life long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was in charge of the bereavement luncheon for seventeen years. She had the greatest bunch of friends and workers anyone could know. She was also a member of Hilltop Grove, Legion of Mary, St. Ann’s Altar Society, St. Rita’s Auxiliary and the VFW Post # 1114 Ladies Auxiliary. She had also worked at several restaurants in the city and retired from Hilltop Inn. Mom loved playing bingo, quilting, WIKY, Jesus and life itself. Her entire family knows she will live in eternal peace and love in Heaven. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Pierre Funeral Home, continuing at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street where a memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Undeniably, an organization with special caring individual like Nancy and Lisa, Linda, Shirley, Kelly, Valerie, Christy, Kerri and Sharon.
