James E. Wolf Sr.

Jim passed away peacefully in the early hours of 23 August 2022, his family around him. Jim was born in Evansville, Indiana on May 23, 1932, to the late William Wolf and Mary Madeline (McIntire). He graduated from F.J. Reitz High School. After high school, Jim served 2 years in the Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. While in the service, he married Elizabeth Anna Wilson who passed away years later (March 1965) from Leukemia. Jim and Anna had 4 children: LaDonna Livers (Mark-deceased) of Evansville; Karen Kostrzebski (Rick) Evansville; Sandy Pierce of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and Jim Wolf Jr (Susan) of Quincy, IL. In 1969, Jim married Bobbye Clary and had daughter, Mandy Pfender (Dave) of Evansville. Jim had seven grandchildren: Shawn Livers, Scott Livers, Shane Livers, Krista Gardner, Ryan Pfender, Bailey Pierce, Saylor Pierce; one step-granddaughter, Devyn Budde (Craig), and one step-grandson Jessy Hicks. He had four great-grandchildren: Hali (Daniel) Soreson, Abigail (Heath) Kercher, Brevin Livers and Lily Livers. Jim also has four step-great-grandchildren, Storm Budde, Ziah Hoelscher, Scarlet Hoelscher, Dean Budde. Jim worked at Hahn, Inc for 23 years and then worked for Bumb & Mueller Farms for 32 years. He loved flowers, ice cream, reading, guns, IU Basketball, Reitz Football, and the St Louis Cardinals. He adored and was adored by his family. Jim worshiped at Christian Fellowship Church (Evansville). At the church, Jim was known affectionally as “ Mr. Jim” by the children he served in the nursery alongside his “Buddy”, Syd Finney. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Winslow, and brothers Earl Wolf and Gary Wolf. Jim’s family wants to give a “special” thanks to the many doctors, nurses and caregivers, especially at Divita East Dialysis, who were instrumental in Jim’s care for so long. We also want to give a big thanks to Jim’s caring helper, Kristena Robinson and to the many prayer warriors who care so much about him. A service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street. Visitation with the family will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday at Pierre Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery following the service.
