Jarrod L. Luigs

Jarrod L. Luigs, 40, of Evansville, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 28, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Jarrod was born on August 19, 1983 in Evansville to Steve and Vernie (Ames) Luigs. Jarrod was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He was a devoted father to his children. He loved spending time playing outside in the yard and taking golf cart rides with them on their property. Jarrod took great pride in building the home his family lived in; had a quick wit and great sense of humor; loved traveling, grilling, hunting, working in the yard, his dog Rooney and spending time with his family and friends. He was a 2002 graduate of Mater Dei High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Southern Indiana. Jarrod worked as a commercial real estate broker and was a Senior Advisor at SVN|The Martin Group. He held two of the highest designations in the commercial and real estate industry; the CCIM Designation and SIOR Designation. He was also a member of the Indiana Commercial Board of Realtors and had been awarded the SVN Achiever’s Award many times during his career. Jarrod was known in the Evansville Commercial Real Estate community for his high integrity, dependability, and creative approach to real estate. He believed in providing the highest level of service to his clients and tenants. Jarrod’s accomplishments far surpassed his years. Jarrod is survived by his wife of seven years, Katie (Gerlach) Luigs; children, Eleanor and Grayson Luigs; parents, Steve and Vernie Luigs; a sister, Rachel (Raymond) Goebel; brother, Brian (Anna) Luigs and his grandmother, Roseanna Ames. He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chris and Pam Gerlach; sister-in-law, Jenna (Lance Flener) Gerlach; aunts, uncles, nieces, a nephew and cousins. Jarrod was preceded in death by grandparents, Herman and Doris Peach and Doug Ames. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at St. James Catholic Church, Rev. Andrew Thomas, Rev. Christopher Droste and Rev. Eugene Schroeder officiating. Burial will take place in the St. James Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:00 AM until service time on Thursday at St. James Catholic Church, 12300 County Road 50, Haubstatdt, IN 47639.
