Kathleen R. Marrs

Kathleen R. Marrs, 86, of Evansville, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 with her daughters by her side. Kathleen was born March 15, 1936 in Evansville to the late Martin and Madeline (Wolf) Miller. She was a 1954 graduate of Mater Dei High School and began her work career at Central Library during her junior year. Kathleen later worked for Telesis and Essex before getting a job at Mead Johnson. She worked there for 24 years, before retiring from Bristol Myers in data processing. She and her late husband Don were members of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Along with Don, Kathleen enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, playing golf and visiting Ellis Park. She also enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles and reading. Kathleen kept her quick wit and positive attitude until the end. Surviving Kathleen are two daughters, Karen (Keith) Hinderliter and Cynthia “Cindy” Marrs; a sister, Jean Anson; grandchildren, Jamie (Eric) McCallister, Shanna Messersmith, Katie (Steve) Mathew, Audrey (Andy) Niemeier, Stephanie Morrow, Jeff Weyer and Anthony Laufer; twenty great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Donald D. Marrs in 2021; by a daughter, Lisa Weyer in 1998; by a grandson, Brad Hinderliter; by two sisters, Mary Jo Barnes and Marilyn Miller; a brother, John A. Miller and by brothers-in-law, Melvin Anson and Larry Barnes. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rev. Christopher Droste officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 6:00 PM on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:30 AM until service time on Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 418 N.
