M. Dolores Goebel

M. Dolores Glaser Goebel, age 96, of Blairsville, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the West River Health Campus. Mrs. Goebel was born December 16, 1926 in Evansville to the late John and Mary (Seibert) Koch. She was a 1944 graduate of Memorial High School and a longtime member of St. Wendel Catholic Church. She was a member of VFW Post 6576 Ladies Auxiliary and had served as the president and treasurer of the post for many years. Dolores enjoyed spending time with her family, socializing with friends, playing cards and bingo, quilting and crocheting. Surviving Dolores are six daughters, Alma (Tony) Scheller of Evansville, Alfreida (Kenny) Brown of Chrisney, IN, Mary Jean (Harold) Graff of St. Wendel, Rosalie Corn of Phoenix, AZ, Diane (Paul) Sellers of Stonefort, IL and Jane (Tom) Seibert of St. Wendel; one son, Ralph (Lana) Glaser of Blairsville, IN; one step daughter, Vickie Bradshaw of Evansville; a stepson, Earl Goebel of St. Wendel; daughter-in-law, Debbie Glaser; step daughter-in-law, Terry Goebel and two sisters, Lenora Mandel of Evansville and Regina Forler of Santa Claus, IN. Also surviving are thirty grandchildren, Steve (Debbie) Scheller, Karen (Walter) Masterson, Angela Frederick, Tricia (Bear) Hoskins, Chris (Lyndsey) Schneider, Kevin (Robin) Schneider, Lisa Stevens, Rod Brown, Wayne Glaser, Shannon (Stu) Seibert, Harold (Katie) Graff, Nancy Griffith, Eric Corn, Jessica (Dan) Sheehan, Nick (Jessica) Unfried, Brad Unfried, Priscilla (Wade) Wiley, Stephanie Szczapinski, Ashley (Stephen) Horning, Kristyn Merwin, Jennifer (Cody) Remaklus, Kim Goebel, Tom (Paula) McDaniel, Denise Killian, Jeana Goebel, Deana (Kenny) Tenbarge, Amy (Chris) Martin, Karen Goebel, Sheri Goebel and Christopher (Lindzy) Bradshaw; forty-nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred Glaser in 1962; by her second husband, Edwin Goebel in 1985; by a daughter, Carolyn Glaser in 1957; two sons, William Joseph Glaser in 1964 and Art Glaser in 2016; stepson, Gary Goebel in 1992; two brothers, Alfred Koch in 1962 and Elmer Koch in 2007; by a granddaughter, Jeanice Scheller in 1969, grandson, Charles Bradshaw in 2016 and by a great grandson, Hunter McDaniel in 2013. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 28, 2023 at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Rev. Ed Schnur officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Wendel Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 5:00 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 A.M. until service time at St. Wendel Church.
