Mary Lee Reis

Mary Lee Reis, 84, of Evansville, passed away Monday, December 1, 2008 at her home. Mary Lee was born August 30, 1924 to John and Christine Kissel. She attended Reitz High School before working at Servel for several years. She was also employed at DeJongs in the 1970’s. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mary Lee was an avid bowler for over 50 years, enjoyed attending state and national bowling tournaments, and was the City Secretary for the local WIBC for several years. Mary Lee was also a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society, a Pink Lady for the Deaconess Hospital Auxiliary, a Gray Lady for the Red Cross, and helped out at the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. Mary Lee was preceded in death by her husband Joe Reis, grandchild Erinne Ray, her sisters Shirley Williams and Angie Lilly, and her brother Jerry Kissel. She is survived by her five children, daughters Becky Ray, Debbie Reis, Pam Williamson, sons Joe Reis, Jr., David(Jenny) all of Evansville, grandchildren Heather Ray, Blaise Williamson, Rian Ray, Mary Williamson Wallace, Cherie Williamson, Jonathon Reis, Elizabeth Reis, Jessica Reis, and four great-grandchildren. Mary Lee is also survived by her brothers Dan and Richard Kissel, sisters Delores Raley, Evelyn Smith, and Florence Saltzman. The family would like to thank the entire Heritage Hospice staff for their extraordinary care (especially Sonja, Mindy, Carol, April, and Jeff). Special thanks to home caregivers Jeanette Goedde, Dorothy Judge, and Elaine Sandleben. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 5, 2008 at Pierre Funeral Home continuing at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. David Nunning officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Thursday, December 4 from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street with a prayer service at 4:00 P.M. and Friday from 9:00 A.M. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, 809 N. Lafayette Street, and the Alzheimer’s Disease Research, 225 N.
