Patricia Wedding

Patricia “Patty” (Stocker) Wedding, age 73, passed away July, 4, 2011 at Charlier Hospice Center with her loving husband and children at her side. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Don, her son, Don (Gloria) Wedding, her daughters, Cathy (Bryan) Norman and Christy (Jim) Bauer and her grandchildren, Christopher (Brianna) Wedding, Valerie (Taylor) Morrow, Eric Wedding, Chelsea and Danielle Norman and Hadley and Addison Bauer. Other survivors include her sister, Jackie (Jim) Pender, brothers, Leo Stocker and Tom Stocker. Patty was born on September 23, 1937 to Bernadine and Godfrey Stocker, both deceased. She graduated from Memorial High School and attended Bramwell Business College. She worked for General Finance Company before joining Permanent Federal Savings Bank where she opened the West Side office as Branch Manager. She retired as Assistant Vice President from Permanent Federal Saving and Loan in 1995 after 35 years of service. Patty and her husband, Don, spent their retirement years traveling to Hawaii, Aruba, Switzerland and all coasts within the United States with many trips to California and Las Vegas. They enjoyed following the USI basketball team and were members of the USI Varsity Club. They also played golf with the Knights of Columbus Couples Golf Club. She was a devout Catholic and a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. She never missed mass, not even while on vacation. She was the child “bride” for her uncle, Father Bede Stocker, when he was ordained. She loved life, celebrations with family and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July, 8, 2011 at Resurrection Catholic Church, Father Philip Kreilein officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Mausoleum. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where a memorial service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Friends may also visit from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Friday at Resurrection Catholic Church. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Charlier Hospice Center, 610 E. Walnut Street, Evansville, IN 47734. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Charlier Hospice Center, VNA home caregiver, Debbie Nanny, Sister Jenny Miller and Father Phil Kreilein.
