Robert Joseph Herrmann

Robert J. Herrmann, age 77, of rural Evansville, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the West River Health Campus. Mr. Herrmann was born February 26, 1938 in Evansville to the late Carl and Mary Elizabeth (Nurrenburn) Herrmann. Bob was a 1956 graduate of Mater Dei High School where he played football and met the love of his life, Patricia Ann Hartmann. He and Pat were married June 13, 1959. Bob began working at Shawnee/Reliance Plastics before quitting to begin farming full time. Bob loved farming and later in his life enjoyed going to and participating in spot shoots. Along with his wife Pat, Bob had also owned and operated Funny Farm Feed Folks. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Surviving Bob are two daughters, Mary Rose (Tony) Stratman of Evansville and Phyllis (Mike) Rogers of Poseyville; three sons, Steve (Janie) Herrmann of Wadesville, Robert (Darlena) Herrmann, Jr of Evansville and Donald (Debbie) Herrmann of Wadesville; one brother, Russell (Lois) Herrmann of Evansville and thirteen grandchildren, Matthew and Caitlin Herrmann, Jake, Abby and Simon Stratman, Bobby III and Tommy Herrmann, Ryan (Devon) Rogers, Rachel Rogers, Ellie, Andy, Adam and Eric Herrmann. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Patricia A. “Pat” (Hartmann) Herrmann in 2000 and by his infant brother, Wilfred Herrmann and stepmother, Lorena Herrmann. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rev. Simon Natha officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street. Friends may also visit with the family from 12:30 P.M. until service time on Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church.
