Vincent Edward Litzelman

Vincent Edward Litzelman, 94, of Evansville, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023 at the West River Health Campus. Vincent was born January 14, 1929 in Evansville to the late Andrew and Mary (Sebastian) Litzelman. He was a lifelong livestock and grain farmer on the same farm in western Vanderburgh County where he was born and lived his entire life. He loved farming and was especially fond of old tractors and antique farm equipment. He very much enjoyed playing clabber with family and friends. He was a lifetime faithful member of St. Philip Catholic Church in Posey County. In addition to his parents, Mr. Litzelman was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Joann C. (Kercher) Litzelman in 2008; by sisters, Rita Goebel, Marilyn Paul and Eileen Steinkamp; brother, Victor Litzelman; brothers-in-law, John Goebel, Francis Steinkamp and Francis Paul; sister-in-law, Carol Litzelman, niece, Rita “Deetz” Goebel, nephew, John V. Goebel, great niece, Vicki Lynn Schuble and great nephew, Jeffrey Goebel. Vincent had no children, but he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, Joyce Rhoades, Judy Boarman, James Goebel, Janice Schuble, Andrew Goebel, Tony Goebel, Mike Goebel, Tom Goebel, Gary Goebel, Carol Reising, Glenn Goebel, Beth Lindauer, Terri Weber, Lisa Blankenship, Chris Goebel, Patty Litzelman, Susan Wargel, Julie Pierce, Donna Koring, Ron Steinkamp, Elmer Steinkamp, Linda Paul and Robert Paul; as well as many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Vincent very much appreciated the care provided by Lauren Dill, Nurse Practioner, Heart to Heart Hospice and West River Assisted Living nurses and staff, as well as that provided over the past many years by Dr. Javier Jurado and Dr. Ankita Bahuva. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a vigil service conducted at 6:30 PM, and from 9:30 AM until service time on Wednesday at St. Philip Catholic Church, 3500 St. Philip Road, S.
